Our story
American Car Shipping began after our founders spent a decade inside dealer logistics watching customers get quoted one price and billed another. The industry's core problem was never trucks — it was information. Customers could not see who was actually hauling their vehicle, whether that carrier was insured, or why the price changed at delivery.
We built the company around fixing exactly that: a verified carrier network, a rate that is locked when you approve it, and a coordinator whose name and direct number you have from day one.
Carrier standards we will not bend
- Active FMCSA operating authority confirmed on the day of dispatch
- Current cargo insurance certificate on file with adequate limits for your vehicle
- Satisfactory or unrated safety status — never conditional
- Digital bill of lading with time-stamped photos at both ends
- Removal from our network after repeated missed windows or claims
How we price, and why it stays put
Lowball quoting is the industry's oldest trick: publish an unrealistic rate, collect a deposit, then tell the customer no carrier will take the load until they pay more. We quote against live carrier bids on your lane, so the number you see reflects what a driver will actually accept. If our rate is $80 higher than a competitor's, that is usually the difference between a truck showing up and a week of excuses.
Expertise and experience
Our coordinators average six years in vehicle logistics. The compliance team monitors carrier authority daily through FMCSA data feeds, and our claims specialist handles the rare incident directly with the carrier's underwriter so you are not chasing paperwork.
What our customers ship
Relocating households, snowbirds, online marketplace buyers, dealerships moving inventory, collectors heading to auction, and service members under PCS orders. Each of those has a different risk profile, and we staff for all of them.
