Car Shipping Company | Car Shipping Companies

There are numerous car shipping companies to choose from, but picking the right one is the difference between having a smooth experience and spending hours of your time trying to find out what is happening with your car because you hired a non-reputable company.  Identifying the right company is a factor of their years in business, reputation with complaints, price and availability.  By reading throughout this site you can make yourself an educated consumer, and therefore less likely to be scammed.  Unfortunately this industry has some individuals heavily lacking in the ethics department and that results in customers losing substantial time and money because they did not take the time to be know how to be a smart consumer.  Comparing car shipping companies only on price is where most people go wrong, first it is more important to identify which companies are reputable and reliable and compare prices amongst them.  Without first doing that your perceptions of price can be misguided.  A good amount of people will initially book their car shipping with a company who is unable to get it moved because they underbid the job.  Then when they search for someone more reliable to get the job done, they are shocked on the price difference.  In reality the reliable company is not high, it is just the unrepeatable company quoted an unrealistic price and you budgeted based on that.

Often most of the listings you will find online or where ever you search for a car shipping company will be a broker, or broker and transport cars.  Some feel it is better to get directly to a shipping company, some feel it is easier, better and cheaper to deal with a broker.  Experience has taught us that it is not so much which of the two you choose but how that particular company is with handling customers.  Are they honest and upfront or do they mislead you by telling you things like, “you can put whatever you want in the car.” While this is not heavily regulated by the Department of Transportation, it is actually illegal to put items that are not normally in the car.  An example would be, if you had a road side kit or emergency earthquake kit and blanket in your trunk, the DOT would not be concerned if they found that.  However, if they were to do an inspection on our truck and trailer and look into the back seat of your car and find a microwave and mini-fridge sitting there, they know it is not part of the car.  Legally they have the right to seize those goods and fine the driver.  Generally speaking the customers that mislead you like this, are not honest about other things as well.  Be sure you get the facts and review the number of complaints of each company on the Better Business Bureau before choosing your car shipping company!
